Installation Instructions

Installation

Download the latest version of the emulator from the archive (here) and place it in one of the folders on your SD card according to the PND guide (This guide will assume that you put the PND in /pandora/menu) In XFCE, the icon to the emulator should appear in the menu under 'menu -> Emulators -> SNES9x4p' (if you put the PND in /pandora/menu), or on the desktop (if you put the PND in /pandora/desktop or /pandora/apps).

ROM Images

N64 ROM files come in a range of formats, most commonly .n64, .z64 or .v64. This emulator can also handle compressed ROM files (.zip, .gz, .bz2, .lzma, and .7z)
While it does not matter where the ROM files are placed, it is often easiest to put them somewhere that makes sense in relation to the PND for easy browsing. A good place to put them would be either in a clearly-named folder in the root of the SD card (e.g. /N64) or in the same folder as the emulator PND (e.g. /pandora/menu/N64). It does not matter how many ROM files are in the folder, or what directory structure is used.

Usage

Overclocking is often necessary to achieve acceptable emulation. See the Compatibility List for each game's tested speed.

Sound

Sound plugins are disabled by default to speed up emulation. To enable sound, select 'Options->Configure...', click the Plugins tab, and select a plugin from the second drop-down menu.

Loading a Game

Upon starting the emulator, you will be presented a GUI that can be configued to automatically display your ROMS. To do this, go to Options->Configure... and then on the ROM browser tab press add and select the folder where your ROMS are located. If you have roms in subfolders, check the 'recursvely scan directories' box. Roms shoudl appear in the main window and can be double-clicked to run.

Alternatively, ROMS can just be loaded by going 'file->open' or clicking the red cartrige icon, and selecting your ROM in the explorer.

One the ROM is running, press the pandora button to exit (closes the entire program, does not go back to GUI).
