Problems during booting
The universal solution to solving a problem that occurs during boot up of the system is to re-flash your firmware. However, some of problems can be solved without a re-flash.
Screen goes dark mid-boot
This is a bug with the feature that saves your brightness. Pandoras with the latest hotfix installed shouldn't suffer from this problem. Pressing Fn+I a few times (to increase your brightness) can correct it, if it doesn't the problem is more serious.
Pandora reboots immediately
If you use the Xfce window manager, by default the battery monitor on the taskbar will force a shutdown (with no warning) at less than 5% battery remaining, unless the mains charger is active. Charging from USB will not prevent the shutdown.
My Pandora does not start, even with the mains adapter plugged in
When a battery is inserted, the power goes into the battery, charges it and the battery powers the Pandora. When no battery is inserted, the power goes through the charging circuit directly into the Pandora.
What this means is, if the battery is really empty, the Pandora won't power on when connected to AC until the battery reaches a certain voltage level. Let it charge the battery (it could take 10 or more minutes before it starts to charge) or remove the battery and plug in the mains adaptor, it then should start.

Power and charging
My Pandora does not start, I've heard a pop after I used the charger
There's a chance that it is only your charger that has malfunctioned. Try another charger. The Pandora has been confirmed to work perfectly fine with an official PSP charger. Charging from USB (using the mini-usb port) will also work.
Help! My Pandora lost its charge overnight
Don't panic, there are a few different possibilities that could explain your power loss.
First, how are you shutting down your Pandora? Sliding the power switch does not turn it off, it simply puts it into a low power state which will still use up your battery. To properly shut it down, you must do so through the menu.
There is a possibility that if you removed the charger while shutting down that it will start back up, thinking you want to charge it (remember that the Pandora must be powered on while it's charging). Also, if you plugged in your Pandora to charge and it was turned off, be sure that it is charging. Sometimes it powers it self on but the charge light isn't on so it isn't charging, unplug it and plug it back in (I think this happens when charging through USB).
If none of the above explains how it lost its charge, you may want to read this thread on the subject. Latest though is that maybe WiFi is sometimes responsible [1]
Day to day usage
There's no sound!
When you get your Pandora, the volume in the Xfce mixer is set to zero by default.[2][3] Click on the icon with wavy blue lines on the bottom-right side of the taskbar in Xfce, and turn up the volume.
A window is taller than the screen and i can't reach the OK/Cancel buttons!
Hold down the left sholder button and drag the window with the stylus.
